Our aim is to set the foundations of a discrete vectorial calculus on uniform n-dimensional grids, that can be easily reformulated on general irregular grids. As a key tool we first introduce the notion of tangent space to any grid node. Then we define the concepts of vector field, field of matrices and inner products on the space of grid functions and on the space of vector fields, mimicking the continuous setting. This allows us to obtain the discrete analogous of the basic first order differential operators, gradient and divergence, whose composition define the fundamental second order difference operator. As an application, we show that all difference schemes, with constant coefficients, for first and second order differential operators with constant coefficients can be seen as difference operators of the form

In this paper we discuss Sobolev bounds on functions that vanish at scattered points in a bounded, Lipschitz domain that satisfies a uniform interior cone condition. The Sobolev spaces involved may have fractional as well as integer order. We then apply these results to obtain estimates for continuous and discrete least squares surface fits via radial basis functions (RBFs). These estimates include situations in which the target function does not belong to the native space of the RBF.

In this paper, we extend the Moreau-Yosida regularization of monotone variational inequalities to the case of weakly monotone and pseudomonotone operators. With these properties, the regularized operator satisfies the pseudo-Dunn property with respect to any solution of the variational inequality problem. As a consequence, the regularized version of the auxiliary problem algorithm converges. In this case, when the operator involved in the variational inequality problem is Lipschitz continuous (a property stronger than weak monotonicity) and pseudomonotone, we prove the convergence of the progressive regularization introduced in Refs. 1, 2. 相似文献

Markov diffusion processes governed by Ito sense stochastic differential
equations. Concepts of max-plus martingale and max-plus stochastic differential
equation are introduced. The max-plus counterparts of backward and forward
PDEs for Markov diffusions turn out to be first-order PDEs of
Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman type. Max-plus additive integrals and a max-plus

For arbitrary composition operators acting on a general Bergman space we improve the known lower bound for the norm and also generalize a related recent theorem of D.G. Pokorny and J.E. Shapiro. Next, we obtain a geometric formula for the norms of composition operators with linear fractional symbols, thus extending a result of C. Cowen and P. Hurst and revealing the meaning of their computation. Finally, we obtain a lower bound for essential norm of an arbitrary composition operator related to the well-known criterion of B. MacCluer and J.H. Shapiro.
